To set up email in Outlook 2019, follow these steps:

  1. Open Outlook 2019.
  2. Click theย Fileย tab.
  3. In theย Account Informationย section,ย clickย Add Account.
  4. In theย Choose Serviceย dialog box,ย selectย Exchange, POP, IMAP, or Outlook.comย and clickย Next.
  5. In theย Add Accountย dialog box,ย enter the following information:
    • Your Name:ย Your full name.
    • Email Address:ย Your email address.
    • Account Type:ย POP3,ย IMAP,ย or Outlook.com.
    • Incoming mail Server:ย The incoming mail Server address for your email account.ย You can usually find this information on your email provider’s website.
    • Outgoing mail Server (SMTP):ย The outgoing mail Server address for your email account.ย You can usually find this information on your email provider’s website.
    • Username:ย Your email address.
    • Password:ย Your email password.
  6. Clickย Next.
  7. Outlook will test your account settings.ย If the settings are correct,ย you will see a message that saysย Your account was successfully configured.
  8. Clickย Finishย to close theย Add Accountย dialog box.

Your new email account will now be added to Outlook 2019 and you can start sending and receiving emails.

Additional tips:

  • If you are unsure of your incoming or outgoing mail Server addresses,ย you can contact your email provider for assistance.
  • If you are using a POP3 account,ย you will need to configure Outlook to leave a copy of your emails on the Server.ย To do this,ย open Outlook and click theย Fileย tab.ย In theย Infoย category,ย clickย Account Settings.ย In theย Account Settingsย dialog box,ย select your POP3 account and clickย Change.ย In theย Change Accountย dialog box,ย clickย More Settings.ย In theย More Settingsย dialog box,ย click theย Advancedย tab.ย Underย Delivery,ย select theย Leave a copy of messages on the Serverย checkbox.
  • If you are using an IMAP account,ย Outlook will automatically keep a copy of your emails on the Server.
