To set up email on an Android device, you can use the built-in email app or a third-party email app such as Gmail or Outlook.
To set up email using the built-in email app:
- Open theย Settingsย app.
- Tapย Accountsย >ย Add account.
- Selectย Personal (IMAP/POP).
- Enter your email address and password.
- Tapย Next.
- Select the type of email account you want to set up:ย IMAP or POP3.
- Enter the incoming and outgoing mail Server addresses for your email account. (mail.yourdomain.co.za)
- Tapย Next.
- Review your account settings and tapย Finish.
To set up email using a third-party email app:
- Download and install the email app from the Google Play Store.
- Open the email app and follow the on-screen instructions to add your email account.
Once you have added your email account, you can start sending and receiving emails.
Here are some additional tips for setting up email on an Android device:
- If you are using a POP3 account,ย you will need to configure the email app to leave a copy of your emails on the Server.ย To do this,ย open the email app and go to the settings for your POP3 account.ย Look for an option calledย Leave a copy of messages on the Serverย and enable it.
- If you are using an IMAP account,ย the email app will automatically keep a copy of your emails on the Server.
